(these prices are valid for groups of a minimum of 25 paying participants) Two boats can hold a maximum of 26 persons. For groups of more than 26 persons, the group will be split into two. In the morning group 1 will set off in a flat-bottomed boat whilst group 2 rides in a horse-drawn wagon. At lunchtime, both groups will eat together in the restaurant and in the afternoon it's the other way round: group 2 in the flat-bottomed boat and group 1 in the horse-drawn wagon.
Also possible within a 3-hour period : for a maximum of 52 persons : group 1 (26 pers.) in boats, group 2 (26 pers.) in a seated horse-drawn wagon. Midway, the groups change over : group 1 gets into the horse-drawn wagon and group 2 goes aboard the boats, with both groups meeting in Ebersmunster to visit the Abbey. A concert with the organ in the Abbey is proposed as an extra.
If the weather is very bad, the boat trip to Ebersmunster will be replaced by a visit of Selestat or of the studios of the local craftsmen, or indeed by a bicycle outing starting off from Rodern. The visit in a seated horse-drawn wagon can still go ahead since the wagon is protected by a waterproof cover (take a change of clothing just in case) Programme feasible: from May to the start of November (unless there is an exceptional rise in the water level of the river Ill).
As an optional extra, we suggest a concert of the Silbermann organ with a guided visit of the Abbey by the l'Association des Amis de l'Eglise (Association of the Friends of the Church). Contact Mr KELLER directly: Tel 03.88.85.72.08
